How do I pay for a boiler service?
You can see from our checklist above what’s included in a boiler service. But on top of that, after you book a gas boiler service, a Gas Safe Registered engineer will conduct a series of checks on your boiler to ensure it is working safely and efficiently and keeps your manufacturer’s warranty valid as per their terms and conditions. It can also pick up small issues like low boiler pressure which can lead to bigger problems in the future.
Is boiler servicing included as part of a cover plan?
This is one of the main benefits of one of our boiler cover plans as they all include your annual service. You will never forget and plus if you bought a Viessmann or Worcester Bosch boiler from us, you get 2 years extra warranty on top if we service your boiler every year. If you are just starting your payment plan however you will not be able to get a service until after you have made 10 payments.
How long does a boiler service take?
How long a boiler service takes is dependent on your boiler type, the ease of access and what your boiler is like once the heating engineer ahs looked inside to check it. A boiler service should take between 30 minutes and 1 hour.
Why You Should Regularly Get A Boiler Serviced
- Most households use boilers all year round, even if it seems that the appliance works only in winter. That’s because most boiler issues affect people more when they need heating the most – winter. With annual boiler servicing, your heating engineer will be able to catch any issues with the boiler early before they snowball into a major problem.
- Servicing your boiler means the appliance will run more efficiently. This will cut down your energy bills over time, particularly if you have a modern energy-efficient boiler.
- Some homeowners think that servicing a boiler is too expensive and is generally a waste of money. However, this isn’t always true. First, a boiler service does not cost too much, especially if you have boiler cover. Secondly, regularly servicing your boiler is by far cheaper than replacing your boiler entirely due to irreparable damages.
- Your boiler will last longer with regular service. This means you are less likely to spend money on buying a new boiler sooner than you should if you take boiler service seriously. Running regular checks and maintenance will keep your appliance working optimally and reduce frequent breakdowns.
- If you have a warranty, you can claim money for any repairs provided you service your boiler annually. However, if you fail to service your appliance for more than a year, you may void your warranty. Ensure to check the conditions of your boiler warranty and book a boiler service on time if it is required.
Our Gas Safe engineers as you can guess service every type of gas boiler. This includes combi boilers, system boilers and conventional boilers. We can also arrange for a LPG boiler service but you would have to give us a quick call to get that booked in as it requires suitably trained engineers.
What happens if I forget about getting a boiler service?
One of the benefits of getting your boiler serviced every year with Boiler Central is that we always send out reminders prior to you needing to book. We send out email notifications 2 months before, 1 month before, 2 weeks before and 1 week before it is due. This gives you plenty of time to get booked in with one of our Gas Safe registered heating engineers.
Why does a landlord boiler service cost more?
If you are a landlord you would need to select Landlord boiler service option as this means that you will get a Landlord CP12 Gas Safety certificate too, as well as the standard domestic service.
